Hi there thanks for stopping by my little home on the internet…

Yes, I am David C.McKinney and this is my official personal website.

Some people have asked me if I like to go by Dave or David. It’s been a bit awkward at times explaining that I really have no preference, it seems to be more of a thing that each person seems to land on what they are comfortable with. I have had friends that when, after introducing my self as “Dave” they started calling me “David” and vice versa. So… you are welcome to call me Dave or David as well.

I am the proud papa of 5 beautiful adult children. Two oldest are boys and three younger are girls. I have been blessed with 6 grandchildren (as of the date of this page post) with another grandchild on the way.

My wife Malia and I have been together for over 25 years, and this is the second marriage for both of us.

I was adopted as a baby, and both of my adoptive parents have passed away, however I am grateful to have been able to connect with my birth mother in the 80’s and she is alive and well.

I have one sister and no other siblings.

The reason that I decided to start this website and blog was because I felt like I wanted to have a place to share what was on my mind and heart other than Facebook or other social media outlets. I simply felt like I needed a home for the things that I think, and perhaps, in the back of my mind, a place to allow others in to “see” me a bit better.

I also wanted a place to practice my “voice.” A place to give voice to the different areas of my life. I

I have been thinking a lot about so many things that felt like they needed an outlet. A place to give voice to my voice, and as I do, I know it will resonate with those that I call friends or with those who will be my friends.

In regards to what I do for a living…

I have been in the “online marketing” space since 1998. I have more details of what I do on my Internet Marketing page, however I own two companies M-Powered Marketing Solutions LLC, a small online marketing agency,  as well as distribution of my own brand of nutritional supplements called LifEnrich through my other company M-Powered Health LLC. Both of these companies keep me pretty busy. My business history and endorsements are on my LinkedIn page

And then, of course, there is my faith life which I have described on My Faith Journey page. This plays a huge role in my everyday life as well as what drives my thoughts on purpose, destiny, intimacy and love. #loveneverfails.  Malia and I are involved in The Immanuel Approach Prayer ministry and Practicum through Pastor Patti Velotta, and Dr. Karl Lehman. We are city leaders with the Immanuel Approach Prayer for the San Francisco Bay Area.

According to the gallop leadership strength finder tests, my top strength is connectedness with my second being empathy.  Because of both of these strengths I have found it easier to connect to people and give them a place to feel safe talking with me. I love how I am wired, however I am really learning how to mature in the gifts and strengths that I have been given and give room for the creative “voice” that is a part of who I am.

My desire is for you, the reader, to get a better idea who I am, what I think about, how the different areas of my life may connect with yours. I also wanted to leave a bit more of a written legacy for my kids and grand-kids other than the different social media channels out there.
